Q. Can I have a smoke machine?
A. Unfortunately fire and smoke alarms are very sensitive and detect heat as well as smoke. Smoke machines will set off the alarms and are therefore not to be used.
Q. How many people can you fit in the Main Hall?
A. The main hall can hold up to 200-250 people, depending on the function and the layout.
Q. How many people can the Community Rooms hold?
A. The Community Rooms are smaller than the main hall and can hold approx.100 people standing, but if using chairs and tables, around 60 would be comfortable.
Q What do I get for my hire of the Community Rooms?
A. Tables and chairs are stored in cupboards and are easily accessible. There is a large cupboard with a sink, water heater, kettle and fridge for your use. There is free onsite parking, disabled access and toilets
Q. When are your opening hours?
A.The Booking Clerk can be contacted by telephone or email at any time during the day, however, as she is not always available to answer the telephone, if you do not receive a reply please leave a message and she will return your call. The halls can be hired from 9am until midnight. Please note that the premises must be cleaned and vacated by midnight so we would usually specify that parties finish by 11.30pm.
Q. Do you have any green space outside?
A. There is a children’s playground, running track, adult exercise equipment and playing fields behind the building.
Q. Can we use the playing field for an event?
A. If you are interested in using the field for an event you will need to call the Booking Clerk to discuss.
Q. I just need a meeting room: do you have any smaller rooms?
A. Yes, we have a Committee Room with its own entrance. It is set up boardroom style using small tables and comfortable chairs allowing you to change the layout if required. It will seat approx. 16 people boardroom style. There is a water chiller/heater for your use. Toilets are accessible via the Village Club.
Q. Can we hold an 18th birthday party in the main hall?
A. Chineham Village Hall is one of the few venues locally that will consider an 18th birthday party for residents of Chineham. However, we have strict rules for such events and the parents of the 18 year old must attend a Management Committee meeting where we will ensure they understand the rules and are prepared to enforce them. A higher deposit may be requested for these events.
